Monster™ Cup Best Practices, Set-Up Tips, Do's & Don'ts!

  • The Monster™ Cup works best with Arc-Zone's high-quality gas lens collet bodies
  • The Monster™ Cup is designed for Argon flow rates between 15-30 CFH (cubic feet hour)
  • Do Not Exceed 175 amps for extended periods of time!
  • The Monster™ Cup is Not designed for welding with AC current!
  • Minimum tungsten stickout of 3/4" (19mm) -- Shorter stickout may result in damage to the screen stack
  • Use a medium or short back cap ONLY. (Long back caps are known to trap atmosphere in the top of the cap)
  • Do not adjust the positioning, or modify the Screen Stack in any way

Monster™ nozzles are designed for precision TIG welding applications where increased shield gas coverage and tungsten stickout are needed. They are not designed for heavy-industrial pipe welding applications.

Arc-Zone does not make any claims or guarantees of weld-quality improvements, or level of shield gas coverage. Results may vary, due to: weld station set-up, material preparation, gas quality, gas flow rates, flow meter type, gas hose material, welding machine, TIG torch, operator’s torch handling technique, etc.

Compatible with popular TIG torch models including: A125 (WP-9), W250 (WP-20), W280 (CS310) and CK 2 Series.

Wow! This thing is big! Large nozzle means large coverage and this provides just that. I rate this a 5 star because when it's set up correctly it works flawless. I did notice it's very sensitive to how well it's fed gas. I had an issue I didn't notice with the smaller nozzles. My collet was old and wore out. As in it was wore shorter with heat and compression from the back cap being taken on and off. So when I set this up the back cap was threading on deaper than it was supposed to. Blocking gas flow to the nozzle. Worked fine with no issues on smaller cups but not on this one. So be sure your front end parts aren't worn out. I believe Arc-zone recommends around 40cfh for the gas flow. For this nozzle I crank it up to 50cfh-60cfh. Be sure there's no cross winds or air movement while using larger diameter nozzles. They are very sensitive to that. To see this nozzle in use check out my Instagram page @Mishler_made_fab

What can I say... this thing is the monster of monster nozzles! I rate this cup at 5 stars for the reason that when used in the correct way and on the right applications its perfect. This cup will need the correct environment(minimal air movement in the shop) and proper gas flow for it to perform at its best. I don't say that to knock the Monster #24 but to make sure if your reading this review and basing your possible purchase on upfront honest info about this product you realize this isn't a cup you run on everyday normal jobs, that's what the other monster nozzles are for. This is a nozzle you want to have in your arsenal if you're welding titanium, inconel, stainless and other materials where the HAZ is important to keep shielded during the welding process. This is a very well put together Nozzle system. The screen stack produces a even flow of shielding gas throughout the coverage area of the cup. The press fit screen allows the gas to be able to take advantage of large ID of the cup instead of have a snap ring or something to hold the screen in and would interfere with shielding gas delivery. if you want to see this nozzle in action check me out on Instagram @wicked_welding
