Monster™ Cup Best Practices, Set-Up Tips, Do's & Don'ts!

  • The Monster™ Cup works best with Arc-Zone's high-quality gas lens collet bodies
  • The Monster™ Cup is designed for Argon flow rates between 15-30 CFH (cubic feet hour)
  • Do Not Exceed 175 amps for extended periods of time!
  • The Monster™ Cup is Not designed for welding with AC current!
  • Minimum tungsten stickout of 3/4" (19mm) -- Shorter stickout may result in damage to the screen stack
  • Use a medium or short back cap ONLY. (Long back caps are known to trap atmosphere in the top of the cap)
  • Do not adjust the positioning, or modify the Screen Stack in any way

Monster™ nozzles are designed for precision TIG welding applications where increased shield gas coverage and tungsten stickout are needed. They are not designed for heavy-industrial pipe welding applications.

Arc-Zone does not make any claims or guarantees of weld-quality improvements, or level of shield gas coverage. Results may vary, due to: weld station set-up, material preparation, gas quality, gas flow rates, flow meter type, gas hose material, welding machine, TIG torch, operator’s torch handling technique, etc.

Compatible with popular TIG torch models including: A150 (WP-17), W350 (WP-18), A200 (WP-26), W400 (CS410) and CK 3 Series TIG torches.

I let my coworker borrow one and he burnt out the screen in 10 mins. Should be used only in low temperatures less than 170 amps. I’ve been using it for brass welding and it’s been okay for me. Jorge: We're sorry to hear that your co-worker arced out your screen. We don't recommend using the Monster™ Cups above 175 amps for extended periods of time, and they're not designed for welding with AC current. Let us know if you need any replacements!

Great cup! But this review is more about the customer service. I had an issue a bit ago and had given them a call about something that happened "my own fault of course" without a doubt Arc Zone went out of their way to help me make it right! they took care of me in every way! I couldn't have asked for more. Great service! They have earned a customer for life!

After buying the #12 Monster Nozzle I decided I would like a cup I can run more stick out with. A 1” stick out with the #14 is no problem. I treat this as more of my specialty cup. My go to cup is still the #12, but for applications where I need to run a longer stick out or where I need the extra gas coverage welding stainless steel and titanium I grab this cup. It is another tool in the toolbox that is really nice to have. I have no experience with other big cups, but Arc-Zone’s screen stack works really well for me. The arc is very stable and the amount of Argon I use isn’t high. Checkout @BlackburnFabrication on Instagram to see the cup in action.
