ER80S-B2 AWS A 5.28 CLASS ER 80S-B2

ER80S-B2 is a low alloy wire used to weld 2¼% Chromium, 1% Molybdenum low alloy steels.

ER80S-B2 produces quality welds on pressure piping or boiler work.

Depending on the hardening characteristics of the base metal, pre-heating from 300°F - 350°F, control of interpass temperatures and post heating at 1,250°F - 1,350°F for 1 hour is required.

Typical applications include pressure piping in steam power generating plants, chemical and petrochemical processing equipment, and shipbuilding.

Tensile strength: 96,000 psi.

Elongation is 24%.

Charpy V-notch @ 72°F is 48 ft. lbs.
