I've seen a lot of pipe guys using these LD set ups on their rigs, and wanted to see what all the hype was about. I used this with a 3/32" tungsten and a #6 cup on some 1/4" mild steel projects and was very impressed. The quality of the appearance of the weld was much much more aesthetically pleasing. I got a lot of gold colors with this set up, as opposed to the standard shiny bead when using a standard gas lens with a #6 cup. I also found that the puddle seemed to wet out a little bit better, which was definitely an added bonus. With that being said, I try to use the large diameter set up as much as possible, as long as there are no space constrictions.
