About Flex Head TIG Torches

The flex-head TIG torch allows you to personalize the torch head angle for the welding job, your workstation, and your welding style. To save time and money, you’ll want to follow some simple steps so your torch doesn’t fail prematurely.

Using Your Flex Head Torch for the First Time

We know it’s tempting to start bending your new flexible TIG torch the minute your box arrives from Arc-Zone, but don’t do it without following these instructions.

  1. To get the most life out of the torch Never bend your torch when it’s cold!
  2. Heat up the torch body before you flex it by striking a couple of arcs.  This will warm up the copper coils inside the torch body and keep them from “work hardening” which will lead to cracked tubes and water or gas leaks.
  3. Once warmed up, you are ready for bending.  The flexible coil area, is generally located between where the handle starts to about 1/2″ before the head.
  4. Do not twist the torch from side to side. This action will cause the coiled tubes to unwind and most likely twist off the head.

Arc-Zone stocks a complete line of  Miller/Weldcraft and CK Worldwide flex-head TIG torches in air-cooled and water-cooled models.
