Gas Lens Collet Bodies Improve TIG Welding-Quality & Lower Shield Gas Costs
Gas lens collet bodies (also called gas flow straighteners) provide improved shield gas coverage. By flowing shield gases through a series of concentric, layered screens of varying mesh, they generate a laminar gas column which optimizes shield gas coverage, and reduces gas consumption.
A secondary benefit of improved shield gas coverage is that the tungsten electrode can be extended beyond the end of the gas cup by as much as 1" (25.4 mm). Additionally the gas lens collet body works as a heat sink improving heat dissipation which helps extend tungsten electrode tip life.
