New Tungsten Electrode Gauge

GAUGE MEASURES TIG TORCH TUNGSTEN ELECTRODE STICK-OUT TO MINIMIZE VARIABLES
Arc-Zone.com® Inc., has added a new tungsten electrode stick out tool to their line up of performance TIG welding accessories.
Welders are always asking what the proper stick-out is for the tungsten electrode on a TIG/GTAW torch according to Arc-Zone.com’s president Jim Watson. “That’s a tough question,” he says, “because there are so many variables from which front-end parts are being used on the torch, to the specific welding application.”
Watson says the new TG-1, a tungsten electrode stick-out gauge, allows a welder to accurately measure the stick-out in 1/16” (1.6mm) increments, all the way up to 1” (25.4mm). It’s constructed of CNC machined brass with knurled locking sleeve and mounted on a key ring holder with a nylon strap and a spring type aluminum hook loop, an easy addition to your tool belt.
“We all know that creating high-quality, consistently good-looking, strong TIG welds is a combination of art and science. The TG-1 eliminates at least one of the variables,” he says.
The TG-1 accurately measures tungsten stick out on all industry standard TIG / GTAW / Heliarc welding torches, except the 24 series.
The TG1-24 accurately measures tungsten stick out on the 24 series TIG / GTAW / Heliarc welding torches.
