If it were my sculpture and I was dealing with the problem of welding tubing at right angles WITHOUT first notching the pieces. I would have a supply of very short pieces of tubing that were already notched and of the requisite diameter to fit snugly inside the tubing to be intersected. 3/8ths drilled holes around the perimeter of the end of the armature tube would allow plug welding of these premade inserts. This way EVERY intersection is not only reinforced but also fit properly BEFORE welding</description>
